A peaceful lane off the main street made this guesthouse the ideal spot. Just a couple of minutes from the main square. Excellent homemade breakfast with organic bread, scrambled eggs, and multiple toppings. The staff were incredibly helpful, providing directions and even arranging a buggy transfer to the train station. The balcony view of the Matterhorn was unbeatable. The shower was quite tiny, which was a minor inconvenience. Guestroom lacked a kettle, but staff sourced one from the hotel. The in-house bakery served delicious coffee and pastries, perfect for a cozy start to the day.

My stay at Guesthouse By The Rex was marred by several issues. The wifi barely worked, which was frustrating when I needed to stay connected. the room was cramped, making the shower a difficult experience where I constantly bumped my arms. Housekeeping also proved to be a hassle since they attempted to clean the room at inconvenient times when we were present, which left us feeling uncomfortable.

Waking up to the breathtaking Matterhorn view from my balcony was pure magic. The breakfast spread was plentiful, with fresh options that fueled my energy for daily hikes.

Recommend it for couples seeking a romantic getaway

The breakfast was something else. I can't emphasize enough how good that homemade organic bread was. We indulged in everything from the scrambled eggs to the multiple jams Front desk helped us out with directions and even sourced a kettle when our room didn't have one, which was a lifesaver. And those dinners? They were healthy and comforting, exactly what we needed after a long day.

It wasn't exactly a cheap stay, but considering the value we got, it was still acceptable.
